ZZ_.125 reamer bit
Directions:
Using an industrial Heat Gun, (wearing heat resistant gloves recommended), heat the steel shank at the old/broken insert. Apply even heat to all sides of shaft by rotating it slowly. Hold the shank by gripping the brass threaded knob at opposite end. Touching any part of the steel directly can result in burn due to heat transfer from area being heated.
Heat for approximately 1 minute, making sure to keep turning shank while heating.
Using a pliers, gently turn the Carbide bit insert while pulling it free from the shank. Keep applying heat until the old/broken insert is totally free from shank.
Once the old/broken insert is removed insert a 1/8" reamer or drill bit into the insertion hole. Gently twist the reamer/bit to loosen any remaining adhesive in the cavity.
Once the bit cavity is completely clean of old adhesive and or debris, place one drop of Loctite #680 in to the hole where replacement bit is to go. WARNING: Follow manufacturer's warnings and usage directions for correct handling and for avoiding health risks.
Push replacement bit firmly into bottom of cavity. Once new insert is placed in shank and is secure, wipe any excess Loctite and let stand upright for a minimum of 60 minutes. For full adhesion let stand for 24 hours before use.
